Ryan’s dad Terry - a music producer, who sadly died from melanoma in 2004 - was Doris’ son from her first marriage to Al Jordan, although he was later legally adopted by her third husband, Martin Melcher. But you won’t see him singing or dancing on screen anytime soon, he has developed a prosperous career as an estate agent for Sotheby's in Carmel, the California town where his famous grandmother died surrounded by friends after contracting pneumonia.
After she died in 2019, she was survived by her only grandson Ryan Melcher, now 40.
